hi there how do you reset the timing? i've replaced some spark plugs and the oil but having problems re-timing any clues it's 899cc

you don't need to retime after replacing sparkplugs and oil

you'll need to tell us exactly what you've done so we can help you.

Lenny
it all started with the tappets being noisey solved that one then replaced the spark plugs but ther was to much oil in and it was very thin so we put in better oil now it's missing slightly it won't fire up without having to use the gas how can it be solved as my husband needs it for work thanks geri

It wont need retiming if its an 899cc - theyre chain driven and you have to get at the bottom end to play with that.

You may find problems if the tappets are too tight, but Id be looking primariliy at the ignition side of things - are the HT leads on the right plugs and are the coils connected correctly?

Is it cranking? What is and what isnt it doing?

it's trying to fire and juddering but if we loosen the tappets it will be tappety again so we can't win either way

If the tappets are too tight you will have no compression. Looser is better than tighter (only in this instance).

The oil is supposed to be thin. 10W40 or 15W40. Of you have used 20W50, take it out, flush and start again.

Cheers
