ok well this is the start of my summer project

i have decided that the supercharger is not going to be cost affective, well that and the fact i cant find any where that will do a stronger crank, so here it is, my cinq GT project

i know and have been told countless time that this is a pain to do and it wont handle but i have looked at this really long and hard over the weekend and done loads of measuring and research and have decided that a 1.4t lump is the way i will go

i have bought the lump along with a GT box, full front suspension, brakes, driveshafts, ecu, turbo, inlet, intercooler, exhaust mani etc etc the only thing i seem to be missing is the engine bay wiring loom

i will post pics up when i start which will probably be this weekend

you good with a welder etc for redoing the inner wing, and you got somewhere sorted to make the driveshafts? Good luck with it, it's a shame you're not doing the supercharger - i'd much prefer to see that done

yeah i am handy with the welder and there is a company local to me that will sort out the drive shafts

i may still do the supercharger in the future once this is done it was just beginning to be abit too far beyond my skill levels so decided that this would be a good start and introduction into forced induction

i may in a year or so's time get another cinq and do the scharged 1108 as i will still look into it and expand my knowledge and do it then

good luck with it and im sure youll love the outcome..... but for the same power and better control id still say 1.4 16v tbh.

but it is up to you and i say well done for trying and i will be folowing....

well i fancied something like me, totally insane, i am keeping the motor stock to start with while i sort handling out, once that is sorted and i am happy that its structually sound i think i will go nuts and have big power but 136bhp should be enough for now lol, i may even make it a pod monster in the future, but thats future plans,

for now its just get the stock motor in and make it reliable

will never see 136bhp

even the novitec sei couldnt get those figures and thats considered the quickest sei ever

i look forward to be proven wrong

are you forgetting i am using the 1.4t out of the punto GT which is stock 136 bhp, the motor is getting a full rebuild before going in so it shout be near that but 120bhp i will be happy to start with

quickest sei ever id doubt too ive herd rumors about a redtop :) hahahaha.

and i tihnk he means with a 1.1 as novitec did it with the 1.1? bi turbo too

stone newt will prove you wrong. he was pushing around the 200bhp mark from the 1242 block, doubt many if any cento's could out handle it on the track

200bhp from a 1.2? sure there must be a typo there somewhere.. anyways as for the redtop it was a lot better at handling than the 1.4 UT i had... that was like a turbo charged boat... scary on the corners if you was giving it some beans.,,, I wouldnt bother, and im talking from experience of owning one :)

thanks for the heads up cov but i am going to have a play and try to find a set up that will offer handling as well i have also decided its getting stripped and caged as well so it will be stiff, maybe even to stiff
