Cinq acceleration problems

Hi Guys,

Just started to encounter a slight problem with my P reg Sporting and was wondering if anyone could help. I am still waiting authorisation to post on the owners group hence the reason I'm putting the query here.

When I depress the throttle slightly in any gear the acceleration seems to pause momentarily (almost like the engine is being starved of fuel) but then as I increase the movement of the throttle the car picks up and accelerates as expected. It has only started in the last few days and was not a problem previously. There are no other problems associated with this - its ticks over well, accelerates briskly and the injector light does not stay illuminated on the dash after start up, there are no fluid leaks and I haven't recently run the fuel tank down to near empty.

I was thinking it might be a clogged fuel filter, a tired fuel pump or a perished hose somewhere - anyone got any ideas?

check for any split pipes if not done so, might as well rule easy things out first

when was car last serviced?

dont bother with the owners group, its for general chit chat not for posting problems, stick to the main cento board. scroll down and you will see it
