Ahhhh....the Integrale.
Bits fall of when you slam the door, rusts to the core with alarming rapidity, Lefthand Drive.....Old, Dated. However......I would very much like an Integrale, but common sense puts me off.
As some of you may know, I used to have an Integra Type-R a few years back and it was quite dated, so I kpet it for 10 months and sold it for what I paid for it. I quite like the engines' characteristics and above all, it was (relatively) bulletproof.
What does it for me with the Civic Type-R (and I have driven quite a few recently), is the 200 (or so) bhp. Not everyone's cup of tea, but the bulid quality and reliablity factor score very highly for me. I mentioned perhaps selling my 145 Cloverleaf soon and whilst it is a lovelly car, it's build and reliablity is indifferent and poor, respectively. It's also cost an arm and a leg to keep roadworth and in tip top condition. Als, Frau Ramjet wants another BMW.
I've also thought quite a bit about the Mazda RX8, but I have heard horror stories about rotary engines. You cant exactly nip down the breakers for a spare set of rotor tips, can you?
So, that leaves the new Golf GTi,the Audi TT 225 or the Alfa 147 GTA. The Golf's are hideously expensive and the Audi's are a bit to "pudding like" for me, and everyone that I have said "Alfa GTA" to has said, "NO NO NO NO NO NO" in reply; so.....it looks like it's going to be the Honda. Unless of course something else grabs my attention. Which it probably will do. Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 - that's more like it!
