i bought an abarth bumper, it was brand new so came primed i had it sprayed at a local body shop.

Its been on the car for about a year and ive noticed really bad pitting of the clear coat and chips through to the primer. Im considering it being resprayed but how can i protect it more, I'm currently using auto glym Resin polish, Meg's Clean wax, followed by auto glym high gloss protection to seal it. Every other wash i use Turtle wax Ice liquid wax purely because its quick and leaves a nice glossy look.

i have just bought some collinite 915 to use instead. do you think it is a paint problem (i.e caused by the bodyshop, crap clear coat or something like that) or a case of not using a durable enough protection or wax.

could get film installed but tbh its a pita if its done crapply....bonnet bras can cause more problem to the paint under neath them to

You could try not driving so close to the cars in front.

cheers smart ass. Just a bit of knowledge for you, you dont just get stonechips driving close to others you can get them coming over from the other side of the road, gritter lorrys etc. I dont drive close to cars in front because i'm not a complete dickhead, i will leave that to the audi drivers.

If you actually read the first post i had the bumper sprayed and i think the clear coat is not very good (too thin, or not good enough quality) the actually surface is pitted and has the odd chip.

LOL!!!

*you forgot bmw drivers to :p

Bumpers with pitted surfaces seem quite common with todays enviromently friendly paints. Waterbased i think, just had mine recoated with clear coat spray hope it lasts more than a year, i don't think polish or wax will preserve the top coat against grit and stones.
Hey don't forget SEAT drivers, they always seem to try to race anything red and Italian.:slayer:
Especially Alfas and Abarths, maybe they should stick to harassing nissan micra's they are more on a level with seat. yeah i would definately say Seat drivers deserve the boyracers drivers title of the decade.
