chipped or not chipped

Hi hope someone can help Iv'e Just bought a 2001 2.8jtd ci motorhome how can I tell if the engine has been chipped as its very slow on medium slopes and I have to change down to pull it. Is there something that would tell me that it had been chipped. Cheers Ian

If it was faster than your normal camper then it probably is chipped. But if it is slower - highly unlikely. The only way you can tell is if someone checks the ECU hooked up to a 'machine'.
