Hi all, does anyone have an answer as to why my 2015 500X “check engine” warning light appears and stop/start is disabled along with drive modes? Only happens during a long drive of over 300 kms. Our local auto electrician is stumped. The first time it happened 8 months ago I had our local auto electrician diagnose and they found code P0236-00 error from a boost pressure sensor that controls turbo boost and a turbo diverter valve was replaced. Also a leaking intake pipe to the turbo was replaced. Just last week the check engine light appeared again. It is again P0236-00. This time a turbo boost sensor and manifold boost sensor was replaced. Today the check engine light has come on again! HELP!! would be gratefully received.

Hi :)

What engine is this on ( NZ spec?)

Manual or auto ?

Split hoses are a likely cause..
But frustrating you keep getting it

Have you owned it for long..??
Charlie
Hi Charlie, it’s a Multi-air 1.4 ltr Turbo and it is auto. In New Zealand this model is called the “Pop Star”. Owned since 2017. I am taking it back tomorrow for another check to see what errors come up. Here’s hoping the gremlin can be found.

Ok so I have an outcome to the ”check engine” light coming on with no drive modes.
The wastegate on the turbo was faulty and since this part to replace is not available on its own I had to buy the whole turbo unit- after market from the U.S., brand new, unfortunately no second hand units available in NZ.
Fingers crossed it’s properly fixed. She drives and performs very well now!👌

I`m having a similiar issue with my 1.6 multijet and I`m really curious if you managed to fix that issue. Thanks.
