Technical Check engine light!

I have 54 plate stilo and the check engine level light is on. I've had it checked over by a mechanic friend of mine and he said everything is fine! Does anyone know how I can turn the light off myself

you need to read the codes, to find out why the light is on so you can fix it - then the light will go off. Alternatively you can use the same method for reading the codes and clear it - but it may come back on. Another thing you can do is three turn off / turn on the engine, that may clear it but if it persists then it really does need checking!
