General Charmania - chapter two.

The stripes I bought actually came as one piece 8m long, so instead of having two smaller pieces left you get one useful piece. I can measure it for you tomorrow, it's 12 miles away, but looking at the size of the roll that's left I would guess there's plenty there for the tailgate.

Hi Vern,

Just read the big post above... Nice one... Good advice and really good to see some details I hadn't noticed at Brooklands.... Glad Charmain is pleased with the car. :)

Interesting to read what you say about the lowering springs: They're on the shopping list for the next Panda; as is an anti-roll bar... I've been driving my new Punto around for the last week now and it's got a big old anti-roll bar and the difference between body roll in the Panda and Punto is glaring! That isn't to say that Sparky wasn't 10 times more fun to drive!!

Anyway... Great work with Charmania and I believe I might have just the thing for your next project! ;)

Scratch this Craig, I've just remembered an important point while making mine! Because the stripe on the doors and front wings is less than half the width of the viper stripe I was able to get two pieces in one length, if that makes sense. If you are able to do this with your design too you'll have plenty with an 8m roll, but if your design is too wide for it's full length you'd best get out the tape measure and check.

Plied Kev with alcohol when we were at Brooklands and in exchange picked up a passenger side door pocket. Finally fitted it today, suitably customised ;). Cheers Kev, the 'Black in a flash' worked a treat (y)........

Also today, I had to move the boat I plan to modify to match Charmania. Even before I start it's clear they were meant for each other :).

Brakes have been a bit spongy for quite a while but have been getting worse recently. They would stop the car but if I had to hold pressure on the pedal for a long period of time I found the pedal gradually sinking to the floor. I suspected the master cyl as the same thing happened on the 750L, rebuilding the master cyl with new innards cured the problem, so I did the same thing to Charmania today.
On both cars I had the same problem with fitting the complete master cyl, the brake pipes didn't attach in the same place as they did on the new master cyls I'd bought. Both master cyls were bought because they were cheap at the time, not because I needed them.
My solution is to fit the internals from the new cyl to the original body, I find this easier than re routing the pipes.
