Charmain's currently living in Cardiff, and after having her Nissan Sunny written off by a dozy neighbour I let her borrow Charmania back temporarily. Well, one week later, some :tosser: has bent out the top of the drivers door, got in, and nicked the stereo :mad::mad:.
So, instead of fitting new springs to the clx this afternoon I'm off to Cardiff to bring it home. I've got too much invested in it to risk further damage just before I sell it. Plus, Charmain doesn't want the responsibilty.
So, just because there are some people out there who have no respect for other peoples property Charmain has to go without a car. I'm thinking Farmyard ( remember him? ) will have to be rushed into passing an mot and sent out to do battle in Cardiff, with the grottiest tape player I can find fitted :p.

oh no not another one. Got to the stage now where I had to tax grumbleweed at the start of the month and the tax disc is still sitting by the front door 'cause I haven't taken him out, If I have to take a car to work and leave it all day I don't dare trust the minimal security offered by the mixture of late eighties locks fitted:( Pug's immobilised, alarmed and deadlocked,so it gets taken out. So sad. Hope Charmania's fixable without too much hassle, crying shame with the work you've put into her.

Thanks everyone :slayer:.

Brought her home last night and she's not too bad really. Door bent back easily enough, stereo wasn't too expensive, but will be replaced with something less tempting. One other problem was the steering wheel. It's common practice these days to put a bar in the spokes, lever it round against the steering lock, and shear the top of the steering column off, leaving them free to walk off with the wheel. Fortunately the splines on the hub adapter gave way first so the wheel stayed bolted to the column and they had to leave it.
Fortunately the nut was holding the wheel on tightly enough to drive it home, mostly motorways, but it does mean £60 for another hub .

Away for a few days now so it will all have to wait till I return.

this makes my blood boil!! bast*rds

:yeahthat:

I'm paranoid about where out Selecta goes and where it's left parked. I don't even like parking it in Tesco car park as fearful for dents occurring from people smacking doors into it etc.

Dad had to use it as pool car last week and had to park it in some not so nice areas, was glad each time it returned in one piece.
