Technical Charging Port 500e plastic ?protective film

Is the plastic film covering the LEDs in the charging port supposed to come off? Like the plastic films on some electronic displays when they are new, this seems quite thick so I didn't want to just peel it off. 2022 Fiat 500e La Prima

Yes it is just a protective film so can be removed if desired.
