Anybody changed their bonnet ?
I just had a go and it's not as easy as it looks.
I have dropped off the lights and loom and I was going to remove the 2 nuts either side that attach it to the main body but there don't seem enough room to move them.
Any help would be appreciated :)
Paul

Hi Paul

Its easy (although MUCH easier with two people)

Remove the nuts that hold the hinges to the bonnet - don't try to remove the hinge from the car - the bonnet will then just lift off

Thanks Nigel.
One more thing mate,
How do I remove the remove the 2 hydraulic lifting cylinders from the bonnet ?
Thanks,
Paul

The bonnet strut has a wee locking ring that you pull out then they just come off. CAREFUL, because they ping off very easily, never to be seen again.:bang::D

alternatively, the locating ball of the gas strut simply screws into the bonet - undo it with a spanner

Much easier just to pop it off with a lever, but hold a cloth around it, just in case the spring clip decided to fly away

Changed the bonnet and refitted all the lights.
Took me and a mate maybe an hour or so and not too bad a job (after advice from Nigel).
Only one problem, the bonnet is a different shade of red to the other panels (which are a all a slightly differnt shade to each other ).
Same code 168F.
What is it with red coupes and the red turning pink  ?
