Hello everybody. We had the gear selector cable snap a few days back. As usual, Dealer quoted £135 +VAT but I managed to get a SH pair from a nice man in Yorkshire for £35.

However, I'm looking at how I get the old ones out / new ones in and this looks like a nightmare . The cables are held in by clips at gear stick end and gearbox end, but they both appear completely inaccessible.

Has anybody done this before or could maybe offer any advice, for example an easy way to get them out that we haven't thought of ??

Would really welcome any help.

Someone on a previous thread on the same subject referred to a 'How to' on here for this, but I couldn't find one.

Ta.

Did you have much luck with this job?

I was planning to follow a clutch tutorial on this forum as it described removing the bottom end of the cable. Involves taking off passenger side wheel and wheel well.

Is the top end straight forward?
