Changing Mirrors

Just took original manual mirrors off my 1.6 sx and went to replace them with some new m3 style mirrors. The problem is i don't know how to get the manual mechanism off the original mirrors that you manually move the mirror with (The barrell that you toggle with to set the mirror with the wire attached through to around the back of the mirror plate). I want to transfer it if possible to the new mirrors so i don't have to wind the window down to adjust the mirror. Is this possible?? I've had the original mirrors in pieces but just cannot get the mechanism free. Any suggestions??

Try unscrewing it off the back plate. The mirror cable should then be free.

I've got the mirror off and in pieces. Took the outer casing off and the mirror plate and now all im left with is a plastice mold with the toggle switch at one end and the cables running through it attaching to the part where the mirror goes. Doesn't look like there gunna come free.

The bit where you fingers are theres flat circular plastic screw with bits of its edges missing. Unscrew that and the metal cables etc will come out easily.

I can see two small looking pins around the barrel under the plate. used for locating by the looks of it tho. Is that them? Other than that theres nothing i can see.
