Hi i in the middle of a claim with my insurers and would like to know what would happen if i changed insurers ?

A guy crashed into me as he over stepped a giveway line and i'm in the middle of a claim. but have been looking at a car i'm gonna buy (citroen c4 vtr+) and with the insurance company i'm with are asking a lot of money for the insurance on this car , so i've found a cheaper insurance company that i may go with, but i'm worried that i will lose my claim against the guy who hit me. help please xxx

wasnt a problem with me. AS the claim was still pending then you cant say you havent got any claims as it is pending and you dont know which way it will go. Speak to the insurance company you want to go with and they will take off the no claims and re-inburst you once the claim has been sorted and if it goes in your favour.

Hi

You will have no problem in the claim still being processed by your existing insurers (providing they are a decent company!) but if you cancel mid-term you won't receive any refund until the claim is sorted out fully in your favour. Then you will have to go back to them when it is sorted and ask them for a back-dated refund.

Always best to check with them first.

And you could always give us a try for a quote!
