I've got an old screw-on gearknob that used to be on my golf that I wouldn't mind fitting on my Bravo.

I know the Bravo ones are glued, but do you recon I could trust silicon sealer-type stuff to glue the replacement on, or do I have to find a gearknob with a grub-srew -type fitting? (can't say I've ever seen one) Don't want the gearknob coming off while driving really!
Just wondered if anyone's changed their gearknob and could shed light on the situation.
Cheers

Knobs !

Check the Bravo Guide (link at the top of the main forum page) lovingly prepared by Nige. Go 2 the modifications page and look 4 the gearknob link, and all will b revealed ;)

Re: Knobs !

Cheers mate but I read that already. Its just the one I'm trying to fit is supposed to screw on itself, rather than being held on with bolts. I just want to know if anyone recons any glue could hold it safely.

Araldite

I think that silicon sealant will eventually separate and work loose. Araldite (2 pack - adhesive and hardner) would be a better bet - just be aware though that you won't be able to get it off when you sell the car!
Regards

Yep, I used araldite to glue the fixing bracket onto my gearstick, then screwed a new one onto the bracket. I had to shorten the stick cos it looked silly. Make sure the reverse lift still works, and that u dont glue it down!!!!
