General Changing front Shocks

How do i get the top bolt undone on the front shocks, the main strut bolt, i can't get a spanner on it as its recessed in the mount and the whole strut turns if use a ratchet on it as i cant hold the flat bit as well. any help would be good as i'm stumped on this one.

Hei.

It´s really easy actually. Remember: CORRECT TOOL IS 1/2 THE WORK. You need a ring spanner with a "lowered" head. Tamtamtaaa!!! Done this a dozen times.

do you mean the ring spanners that are at a funny angle, __/ like that, the one i've got doesn't fit, but i'll try getting a new one thats slimmer. the actual ring of the spanner doesn't fit in the hole around the bolt. but its the same size (19mm) as the ratchet that does fit.

Maybe you can find one with an even more lower head. The longer the gap is from the ring to the handle, the better - makes you hold the spanner horizontal.

Sorry for any strange English, but mechanical phrases are fairly difficult to translate...
