General Changing a cv gaiter

Can anyone help?
My mechanic has been unable to change my cv gaiter on my 2004 Ducato 2.8 jtd, because he does not have a socket large enough to access it.
Does anyone know what sized socket is required?
With a bit of luck i can source one myself, as the van is going back in on Saturday for something else, and hopefully i can get this job completed as well.
I would be very grateful for any advise and possible suppliers.
I can't understand why the garage cannot source one but they are pretty good apart from this, so don't want to take it elsewhere.

I think some are 50mm and some are 54mm

Occasionally a 46mm turns up too though I believe

Seems like I have the 54mm one then.
The mechanic said it was either 54mm or 55mm and as I am having to get hold of it, you can guarentee I would have got the wrong one, and at over £30 a go I didn't fancy buying one of each just in case!
