took from another site
sounds intresting!
Some news for the interested parties.
At last we have permission from Historic Scotland (almost over a year to get this) to proceed with some repairs and changes to the site although we can repair existing runways and structures we are not allowed to build/erect put in place any new ones due to it being a scheduled ancient monument(stricter than listing).
28 day rule(permitted development rights ) means that everything that relates to car events must be temporary i.e. if a marquee is up for 2 days before an event and after that means we loose 5 of our given 28 days ,same goes for portaloos they have to go out at the start and come in before 12 that night this also is including all related equipment the gantry, race control, cables, lights, signs, bins etc .
We are trying to maximise our 28 days of operation that is why track days are on the same days as our Saturday night Thrashes so we dont go over the allowed 28 days of use.
Construction will begin mid April of a new access road for the larger events as last year it got washed away at the Max event this should be completed by 7th May depending on contractors and weather for our largest event of the year.
Once this is done a new return road/route will start to be constructed/resurfaced where required(on another part of the venue not involving 3rd parties).
Timing equipment is being updated to include an 1/8th of a mile as well as your speed through this new part of the timing system. We have the gear imported from USA just doing computers/web site rewriting of programs to make sure they are communicating with required fields. If all goes well this should be in place for BANZAI on the 23rd April.
Notice that some of the regular/experienced 1/4 mile enthusiast are interested in the protree set up(random timing of start lights) when the last car going to stage controls the start rather than the controlled start by race control(set timing of lights). If this is the case we just flick a switch in the control and its done.If this is of interest feed back and we can do this for 1/2 day /day 1 hour ?
