Hey

I have a 05 stilo 1.4

It has recently developed a problem when i change from 2nd to third!! it basically "Nips" the gear when i put it in and make a nasty noise, even though the clutch is fully down. Its only on this gear change and only does it on the change up not down and normal above 3000 RPM

Any suggestions ?

Thanks Fletch

Hi fletch start with the simple stuff first mate check your clutch/brake fluid level, then bleed your master cylinder see how that goes then we start talking money I'm afraid

See if the clutch slave is leaking as it could have reduced movement as a result - also see if when about to change gear that crunches, put the clutch in move to neutral, put clutch up and in again then select gear.

If there is no crunching when 'double clutching' it may likely be the 3rd gear syncro ring is worn.

had this before with my 1.2, basically the selector arm was faulty and causing it to not slot to its position properly and caused the synchro on third to wear out quickly, and destroy third gear.

mine did it at about 27k and within warranty so it was covered
