When i have took the centre arm rest out there is a plug there that is not connected, i have read up and just want to confirm, is this for the mirrors to be electric??

Also if i put a marea centre console in i know there is an arm rest, cani also put stuff in the arm rest or is it just a rest?

If that makes sence?

yea its for electric windows, and yes you can put stuff in the arm rest, but its only big enough for say, a can of coke.
 
I have a HLX with electric mirrors as standard, and i have a spare plug under the console, which i later found out to be for the rear auxillary port or cig lighter.

If you dont have a electric mirrors then you'll probably find two plugs if you look hard enough, one for the mirrors the other for the rear cig lighter.

so is the all the wiring in place for the e/m's, would you just need the button and mirrors to get them working?

Yip!

Ohter connectors are suffed down near your manual mirror handles. One of the mods I did in my old 1.2

hey, i seem to be asking this question alot, does it matter what age car the mirrors come off, i have an R reg HGT with electric mirrors, will they fit into my plug on my W reg SX?

Yes..... but if u have a outside temp guage you have to add 2 wires into the plug.

Ahhh im missing a cigeretter lighter in my armres,not like i need it as i dont smoke haha lol I got the e/m controsl all working :)

it doesn't come with it there in UK standard, I put 1 there as using my sat nav with the ashtray down way getting in the way.


Plus i had my turbo timer hidden in there at the time, so removed the fag lighter.

Yeah i have just found the 2nd plug, ideally i would like to get a marea arm rest and i will put the plg in becase i have sat nav, phone and btooth headset, cheers for the info on the plugs.

I have found a console but the guy wants 20 quid for it, i have asked him if he will take less??

Maybe if it is not a big thing i may put elec mirrors in??
 
£20 is cheap. i rememebr wen they fetched £40-80!


Electric mirrors are simple on a mk2 as the wires are already there.

I have a guide somewhere, but im sure sven's done 1 on here already.
