Hi, when I recently bought my Barchetta I was told it didn't have central locking, however, upon removing the door cards to sort out the electric windows I have found central locking actuators (correct term?).Aswell as the central locking not working often the passenger side lock will not lock or unlock; with the drivers side I can hear what sounds like the actuatorr working, not so on passenger side. There is a relay (fuse box unders steering wheel) that looks as though it is an aftermaket job (though professionally done), number of wires linking terminals and fused link off it. Any help in getting things working would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, P

I had a similar thing when I got mine - and I was also told that there was no central locking. It wasn't quite the same symptom as yours, as when it wasn't working there was absolutely no response at all.

What I found was a yellow relay in the passenger footwell which if jiggled a bit would make the locking work. it kept going wrong and the simple fix was to bend the pins a bit so they weren't so loose.

I hope it is as easy for you to fix!

Thanks for the info and the offer of the loan of the yellow relay; talking of yellow relay would it be located just under dash on passenger side? If so, no yellow relay only green and black one. Any ideas? Also any ideas re the relay mentioned in first post?

Thanks P

Hi, have just checked again re yellow relay; no relay but 3 yellow connectors one of which has fuse above it (part of connector). Is this where yellow relay should be located?

Thanks, P.

Hi, Starting from the passenger door side, mine has these items: 2 small black relays, 1 bigger black relay, some fuses, a big green relay, then the yellow one.

I found in my documents a fiat accessory leaflet for this yellow relay, suggesting that it is an aftermarket part, which converts normal central locking into remote. The instructions are shown as diagrams, so not totally clear, but it suggests that you throw away a relay to replace with this one. Maybe your relay is lost. I would look to see if there is an empty slot, then maybe take up johnv's offer to try out his relay.

Hi Ginestra, thanks for the advice; I wonder why I have a lack of relays?! I must try and post a picture of the relay with a profusion of wires that sits under the drivers - side dash.
