Cd Player problems

I have 1.6 SX 100 and I have a probelm with the stereo (model AD182H2). Recently it cannot recognise the cd player and just shows AUX on the main pannel instead of MCD. I a techno muppet and it seems my only option given by my fiat delaer is to send the stereo to Grundug at a cost of £90. I am sure all that needs doing is pressing a button or checking a wire. Can anyone help?

Check the cd player hasnt become partially unplugged.
