CD player playing up

Just joined this forum
Can anyone help me, my after market CD player used to work
Now all of a sudden the the CD player won't turn on. But when the eject button is pressed it still makes the noise of it trying to eject a cd

The car I have is an 04 plate punto active

Did it used to be controlled with the ignition and turn off when the engine was turned off

Sounds like the connection for the ignition feed to the constant live may have worked its way loose.

Varies dependinging upon if you're on about headunit wiring, or cars, and what headunit you've got.

The headunit is got only one plug but got an adaptor for the 2 plug to go to a single plug

How have you figured that then

I presume by testing the stereo in another car, that would be my first port of call.

Yeah thats exactly what i did

And have you tried another stereo in your car - again, just to be sure?
If there are no obvious breaks in the wiring you'll need to trace it back into the loom as there will be a break, crush or twist somewhere that needs repaired.
