CD player for Brava??

Help! I would like a 6cd interchanger for my brava, but I have no idea how to go about it. I don't want anything special, just something that is shock-resistant obviously and is fairly reliable.

I'm assuming it comes in the form of a 'black box' style thing that plugs into that lead in the boot? I don't want a new control panel on the dashboard or anything, just the bit that you put the CDs into!

Are there only a few models that are compatible with the brava, or are most systems suitable?

Also, how much do prices range from? I'm not looking to spend more than £150 if possible.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Look at the link at the top of the page, ebay or the Bravo Guide.

Dill.

Re: Re: CD player for Brava??

Yeah, I saw that link, but it's all in Italian! After a bit of further research, it seems that there are only two interchangers compatible with the brava:

Grundig MCD46
and
Sony CDX T69

Can anyone confirm this and also which one is better?

Re: Re: Re: CD player for Brava??

The grundig is the one, but if you don't get a brand new one then you will need the lead.
If you have a MK1 Brava then you may be lucky and the lead will be fitted (I have a MK1 Bravo HGT and the lead was there).
I would actually recommend getting a new head unit and changer.
There is room under the rear seat on the drivers side for a boot changer.

If the lead in your boot is the original one you'll need the Grundig MCD-36 or MCD-46 - this will plug straight in. The Sony T-69 is compatible with the standard head unit in the dash, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to fit a new cable (bit of a pain if you don't need to).

Some people suggest changing the head unit so you can use other changers and get better sound, but that depends what you personally want - the standard set-up in my Marea is fine as long as you're not interested in rattling the neighbour's windows!

There is a website (www.add-a-cdchanger.co.uk) which sells new Grundigs and Sonys, but search ebay for Grundig under the "automotive" category - they sell quite regularly for about £100-120 - or check the advice on the Bravo Guide.

Re: Re: CD player for Brava??

I was in halfords tonight and they are selling a JVC cd radio and JVC 12 disc cd auto changer for £149 for both. sounds like a good deal, i just bouhgt a CD/MP3 saves all the bother with cd changers

Re: Re: Re: CD player for Brava??

I do have a lead in the boot on the left hand side (I'm assuming this is for the CD player). So if I get the sony, I'll have to install a new lead?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: CD player for Brava??

I was going to suggest an MP3 player (I have one ;) ) but unless you have a CD Burner then they are a waste.

There are quite a few on Ebay for less than £150.

So where is the cheapest place to get a Grundig then?
