Just got a Brava(Feb`97).
Has Grundig CD Changer (the correct model).
But..does not eject magazine and does not "show up" on radio display when pressing Mode button.Radio works fine.
Any ideas? No power? Connections?
Help please.
Cheers

?

Chris, is this a player you have just installed or one that has been working previously in your car - it make a hell of a difference!

I have had the same problems fitting one this weekend and it was the cable.

I'm with Nige on this one

Let's just hope one end of the cable isn't connected properly - check at the cd changer then the back of the stereo.
If not the cable then it starts to get messy - so check this first.

Does anyone have Changer Cable

Just bought an MCD36 through Ebay for my 2001 Marea.
This definitely (after lots of looking) doesn't have a cable, either in the boot or under the drivers seat.

Has anyone got one of these cables for sale?

As it appears to be a straight through cable with different plugs at each end, has anyone ever matched up the pins with a view to creating spare cables?

Obviously I'd prefer to buy one if theres any available.

Cheers all

both ends ok

pulled out radio, everything seems ok..no loose or unconnected wires, although is the cd cable the blue one?
someone said if the head unit has been taken out (the dealer did i think for security) the changer has to be "reset" by fiat??

please guys,anymore idea?
theres a pint in it for someone!

still need a cable?

i have a spare cable if you still need one.

Dill.

try...

connecting a multi-meter to some of the pins in the plug that goes into the changer. Connect one probe to a good earth and then check all the pins one by one with the other probe, you should get 12 Volts on one of the pins.
If you get 12 Volts from the cable it's more than likely that the changer is up the wall. If not you're looking at the cable or the stereo itself.
Don't know about anything to do with re-setting the stereo though.
Regards,
