Cat Back system or Backbox for 155

My 155 HGT is still being repaired and i have been thinking about doing something with the exhaust. I'm not bothered about a power increase ( i am about a decrease thou ) and i just want it for the sound. I was wondering:

1. Will i lose any power and torque with a Backbox only?
2. What make should i go for?
3. Is a full system worth it and why?

Any other suggestions/opinions/recommendations etc welcome

1) probably
2) anything designed for the car - ie not a universal or a custom made one
3) if you just change the backbox the rest of the system will still be old and rusty and will fail pretty soon

so what woulda full cat back supersprint system cost me (parts and labour) and could i have a choice of tailpipe? I'm thinking 3inch single round.

www.motorsportworld.co.uk is the cheapest source by far.

It looks just fine on the car. Having a single 3" tailpipe won't make it sound any different.

It sounds nice, not loud and wanky like some exhausts.

No pictures, I'll try and take a pic of mine. It does fit very nicely.

Hold on!

Dont buy this exhaust expecting it to be loud!

Supersprint spend a fortune on developing exhaust systems, they also make them for Ferrari!

I think it is the perfect loudness (if thats a word), you can drive it at motorways and you will only notice a burbble, but if you have a supersprint and a K&N fitted and you go for a thrash down some country lanes it will be the nicest noise you will hear (out a fiat anyway), i love the sound, when you give some you hear the exhaust loud and clear but on tick over or cruising it has a burbble not a loud noise!

I would love to hear one of these exhausts fitted to a HGT, 5cylinders and a supersprint would sound amazing....but dont expect it to be loud....it sounds stupid but it sound more classy!

Thats good i'm sure the Supersprint is an excellent product - hell if its good enough for Tom!

Am glad its not TOO loud as i drove one with a 5in box on it and i got looks off everybody, hopefully it will be louder than standard and sound even better - not that HGTs sound poo standard though!

All i need is a price for having the parts fitted by a mechanic as i don't intend to mess it up my self!

Slightly different tailpipes but i get the jist. What do you think of yours on a performance/sound basis?

I think all supersprints for the bravo have the same tailpipes, except the DTM ones

When I go under bridges or tunnels I open the windows and boot it.

Think i might go for this exhaust when the car is repaired then. its been 2 & 1/2 weeks since my excursion now. My wings have been straightened out and they are apparantly spot on. If the engine needs serious work (it hasent even been diagnosed yet!!!) then this exhaust will be just a dream! All will be revealed end of next week.
