i know there have been a few of these post already, but here is my question...

the car has been sat on the drive for the best part of 2 months, i start her up at least once a week just to keep myself happy really! when you blip the throtle or rev the engine it almost dies? what could cause this? i know the ht leads need replacing, as one of them is arcing out, but was wondering if there was anything else it could be. plugs are no more than 4 months old, along with oil

oh, its a 1.2 aswell....

its as the revs drop mate, just as hits idle it stutters and drops to less than 500 rpm, if you are quick you can save it, but if you leve it to it it dies.

Could well be due to the fact you keep starting it and not letting it warm up. The plugs are probably fouled.

i do let it warm up, but obviously dont leave it running foreveras its stationary.

will get some new plugs along with the ht leads mind and hope that this will resolve the problem

although it probably warmed up properly the plugs will still probably be fouled. engines generally work best under load (funny thing that ;) ). i remember trying to keep the battery on my dads old jag charged and the engine sweet while he was away for a month or two by starting it up a couple of times, by the time he got back it wouldnt start at all and the plugs were black... oops!
