General Car prices?

Was only meaning exterior pannels, thought the underside of all cars rusted, I'm sure something would be dodgy for there to be rust in the boot area.

inner rear quarter panel in the boot
Rear arches
Towing eye mounts front and rear
Spotting around rear wipers although rare

Make sure you check all doors shut properly and tight locking if they dont then its almost certainly been in a shunt or more serious

make sure the fan works by thrassing the car around for a bit to get it hot

I picked my Cinq 899cc up for £115, 3months MOT, no TAX. Its got 48K miles on the clock. HPI said it hadn't been in any accidents but when I saw the car you could tell it had two new/re-sprayed front wings and a new/re-sprayed bonnet. Couple of key lines down the side. Only needed it as a run around car, also needed to build up my no claims, so seemed ideal.

:)

Needed a bit of work which I have done myself, such as,

Rocker Cover Gasket Leaking
Rear Light Cracked
Boot Leaking Water
Windows Seals Leaking Water
Passenger Door Seal Ripped
Stereo Needed Wiring
Needed Front Speakers
Hazard Lights Not Working
Drivers Side Mirror kept folding in at speed
Washer Jet Pipe Leaking
Clock Bulb Dead
Needed a Good Clean Inside And Out

Just small things really, its all sorted now, just going to do a service on it this weekend, Oil, Oil Filter, Fuel Filter and Plugs. The car just needed looking after. Just doing my arches at moment, one had some bubbles of rust, so sanded them down, gor rid off all the rot and just about to re-spray them.

I have seen similar cars with same miles on Ebay/Auto Trader when I was looking for about £400 to £700 depending on miles.

Also check underneath the car for any oil leaks, check the head gasket and rocker cover gasket arn't leaking. My Rocker cover gasket was only £3 from Fiat. Listen to it start, check the oil and water make sure the head gasket hasn't gone. Check the underneath of the car for rust, you don't want the floor going through on you. Also check the boot floor for any accident damage repairs, and check for water leaks to. I spent an hour with a mate just checking it all, everything from heater, windows, tyres, leaking seals, exhaust smoke colour, etc......

Used things to knock them down on price, I got mine from £150 to £115.

Bargain then !!! :D

Will give it a good going over. The guy reckons he's had it for 2 years and it's not needed much for last 2 MOT's.

Know my way around cars but know what it's like when a single woman goes looking at cars.....!! The guy already thinks I know nothing - "it needed a CV boot for last MOT. Do you know what one of those is?"!!!!

Duh....yes mate thanks, have built, repaired, built engines etc in my time.

Oops....sorry going a bit off topic...... </rant>

Anyway, my brother is coming with me and he's got the gift of the gab.....he'll probably get the guy to sell it for £50 or something !!! LOL

Viewing in about an hours time so will report back later ! :D

Cheers peeps
