General Car mobile not ringing

I had set up my car phone using a Virgin SIM card in early November and everything has been working OK but now after not using it for a month or so I can only make calls from the car fine but when anyone phones the car they get diverted straight away to answer phone at Virgin, the phone does not ring.
I spoke to Virgin customer services on Friday and they said they would reset any diverts on the number but it's still doing it. I told them it was a car phone but they asked me the usual about what the signal strength is etc

Anyone had similar problems.

hi,

i had the reverse problem i.e. i can receive calls but could not make any. took it to the dealer and they reset the phone settings on the computer. Voila! i've had the phone functioning normally since. i saw the technician going thru' the menu of the on-board comp but i don't remember exactly which section he fiddled with.

sorry i can't help with the exact process, but i'm pretty sure your problem would be resolved the same way too.

Not had either of these two problems.

Regarding call diverts and the like, I set them as required by taking the SIM from the car and putting it in my Nokia, then I set the diverts I want, and then replace the SIM in the car.

I've only had to do this once on initial setup - never had to change it since, and settings have remained in operation (as has the phone).

I'm with Vodafone and have dual-SIM with them, so I have my handset and the car on the same number, and I control from the handset (through a simple code) which one acts as the call reciever (it's a work thing otherwise I'd have done it a different way).

If you hold the red phone button for a few seconds, then when you release it it says divert off then everything should be back to normal mate.

Had to press twice to reset to diverts off but now works fine.
