General car is sluggish and poor mpg

car just been serviced filters oil that sort of thing but it still seems sluggish , no faults are coming up on the ecu , i get around the mid/low 20s running around , and towing the caravan is a nightmare , very slow especially uphill
any ideas anyone

What engine etc? Petrol or Diesel, a bit more info may help

I had a strange thing lately, car was sluggish and would not go over 75mph found that I could lift accelerator pedal quite a lot and was therefor not getting full throttle , I adjusted the throttle cable inside engine bay to its limit and all sorted but I havent had a good look yet to see why this has happened.
As for fuel consumption mine varies from mid 20's around town or less when I give it some beans !! to over 45mpg on a long run when I try really hard .

Im havin the exact same issue with mine at the moment, i think ive cracked it today though - check you're air filter its inside a big plastic container...

Mine was clogged up to hell, take it out give a good smack against a wall and then try it, it helped mine a little bit but will know for definate if it was that when ive fitted a new one, just ordered it off ebay today..

i'll check the throttle cable tomorrow , but its got a new air filter in , it was put in last week when it was serviced , i must admit it did seem a little better, been reading on another forum in here about cleaning maf and map sensors ?
