Technical Car Idles at 1000rpm

Car Idles at 1000rpm Problem?

I have a 2004 1.2 Active Stilo. When i turn the car on it automatically goes to 1000rpm, I have the car a few months now however as its my first car i wasnt sure if this is normal.

Couldit be something to do with the air intake valve which i believe can become dirty. Also the car does not need much acceleration when taking off to get up to 15mph+. Would this be linked to the air intake problem?

It's normal to have a high idle speed when you first start from cold. What is the idle rpm when it's warm?

When warm it idles around 750rpm

That's normal then. Put your feet up and have a cup of tea

Has to have a higher idle at cold engine start up as the fuel/ air doesn't mix so well and it needs more of both just to keep going
