Can't start Brava

Hi,

I have a question regarding the immobiliser for the fiat brava. My wife locked the car up last night but we think the passenger door wasn't closed properly. This morning the car won't start, the central looking doesn't work, the engine won't turn over, and all we have succeeded in doing is set the alarm off several times. We have all the keys(I think) and the immobiliser key and I have tried using a variety of these keys to get the car started with no joy whatsoever. Can anyone give me an indicator as to what the problem may be?

Thanks

Damien

perhaps a long shot,

if the door wasn't shut properly could the courtesy light have been left on all night?

if so the battery could be flat, if it was a little dodgy to start with.

I have done this myself so I know its possible.

Dill.

Re: Re: Can't start Brava

If the engine won't turn AT ALL, your battery is flat. No question about it.

Even if the immob was faulty, it would still turn.

Get a new battery, now that yours has been drained almost dead it will never recover. It might charge up ok but give it a week and it will be dead again.

£30-40 now is cheaper than being stuck somewhere.
