hi, im wondering if anybody else has found a soloution to this problem.

I replaced my standard head unit with an aftermarket one, the new one has alot more wires out of the back to hook up an amp, ipod cable, rear veiw, ect.

i've not had a problem with any of the wireing and have had it hooked up and fully working. my problem is that the wires at the back of the head unit dont fit in the small area behind it. i've tried pushing them into the gaps in the corners and trying to give them a gental tug where the wires for the amp come down behind but im still left with the head unit sticking out by about a centimeter or so, im pretty sure its caught on some of the wires.

does anybody have any suggestions of ways to get it to fit? is it ok to cut into that plastic behind or is that used for the air vent? is it just trial and error til all the wires slide into place?

please help because this is begining to fustrate me now

thanks

i think that the plastic is for the air vent. Its dificult enough to get a normal head unit to fit let alone a complex one. Trial and error is the only way.

cheers mate, i guess i'll just have to keep trying then. still got a few things to hook up yet tho lol

Not an easy task in a punto. There are gaps so just trying to wedge as many wires into them as possible. It just means any connections have to be solid because the will be under force when you push the unit in.
