any ideas guys? could having the block skimmed cure it do you think?
noone talking to me
anyway, ive cheered up about the whole car not working situation thanks to a bottle of malibu (its totally tropical)
and im listening to the music from half-life - portal. its nice.
"But there's no sense crying over every mistake, You just keep on trying till you run out of cake."
hehe
pretty sure that if you are thinking the engine block itself is warped then you,d had better start looking to replace whole engine, never heard of having top of engine block skimmed
the head and block in a punto are made of two different metals and because of this when any great overheating takes place its always the head that takes the brunt of it ,so from reading the other posts dont think your problem lies here, i know its not what you want to hear but I would be looking at the head gasket itself ,from what you wrote ,something there doesnt sound quite right
best of luck
easy going' not 'totally tropical' i think thats fanta....
no you want the rocker gasket without the little ear's sticking out of it as the cam cover has a different shape around the sharp corner were it turns to go over the camshaft cap i will have to make a guide about this
as for your breather i would expect air to be humming out of this a bit if you mean it's making a noise when it's disconnected from the air box then it's normal
and the exhaust is probably full of all sorts of crap from the bad running the car has gone through it needs a good thrash to clear it out
same for the cat it will make noises as it cools it has been well a both say 500 degrees c ish
if you separate the exhaust on any car crap will come out with a little water also it's normal why would anyone do this anyway
as for bad running starting this is normal aswell after all you just changed the head gasket it need's to learn the new engine characteristics
if you haven't taken the head off again just drive it and see if things get better
