To cut a long story short i need an engine. i have an 04 jtd the timing belt broke prematurely [50k] and the injectors have siezed so i cant get in to see the damage.
The local fiat dealer said the injectors have beaten them in the past and replace the engine is the way to go.
Which is my problem I have searched high and low for one hens teeth seem to be more available
Its a 16v which seems to be the problem im told to be sure the engine code should be the same [ RHW ] or i could end up with an 8v or a 136hp [ i need a 110 ]
I have been searching for a couple of months now and am well stuck

Not sure if this is going to help, but as 'Euro-Vans', the Citroen C8 and the Peugeot 807 had the same engine Maybe you could broaden your search?

Also the Lancia Phedra (though quite where you'd find one of those...?)

Thanks for that I did the partfinder thing and put it in as a 807 to try to avoid the confusion of asking for a Peugeot engine for a fiat vehicle
I'm told the Scudo uses it too

Still got more questions than answers

To use a different engine im told changing the brain is a non runner it would mess up the imobiliser and allsorts

I think i can get a 136hp engine from a 407 which im told my brain may accept [it is a 16v after all] though the 407 has a particle filter and the guy said he didnt think the fiat has which again would cause too many headaches

Does anyone know has the fiat have a particle filter?
Is there any other engine will do my job?
Failing that has anyone a tip how to remove seized injectors from a cold engine without destoying them:confused:

Got some new info unfortunatley its conflicting

One guy [who is a peugeot mechanic] tells me if i pull the engine out i should be able to open the cam box without pulling the injectors replace rockers and away you go [hopefully]

The 2nd guy tells me no it cant be done on the 16v but can on the 8v,
He also researched the 407 engine and tells me it wont do my job [turbo and injectors are different]

So now im non the wiser:bang:

I want to believe the first guy but sounds too simple iv read to many threads ending in people spending big money on this problem
Has anyone out there opened a cam box on a 16v without interfering with the injectors
