I have just bought a toad alarm, getting it fitted on tuesday but I want to know if I can wire in the imobiliser on the alarm as well as the factory fit one or can I only use one of them at a time?

cheers

yeh u can have a few, but pointless having them all immobilse the same circuit,
cliffords and toads and cat1 alarms tend to have a dual immobiliser circuit so they will immobilise 2 things anyway, you could always get a toad touchkey or something like that, i just use my snapp off steering wheel, thats a great immobiliser

Thanks guys.

The alarm is at my Dads at the minute so I cant tell you exactly which model it is.

From what custard boy said though I may fit it to the fuel pump. Firewarriors solution sounds a bit painful.

Thanks for the replies hopefully later tonight I can be running the batteries down on the new alarm. So many features on it apparantly, I just want it to lock the doors and make a noise.

You probably guessed alarms and car electrics arent my thing!

snapp of steering wheels are great, pull 2 leavers and the steering wheel comes off and u can carry it around with you,
kinda hard to nick a car without the steering wheel lol

Ah now thats a good idea, I am lazy though and would have a tendancy to leave it in the boot.

thats true, but i mean it is handy cos i just take it in with me at night, dont walk round tesco with it lol

As above just fitted/ing a clifford alarm with imobiliser and used that...

Basically sets the alarm of as soon as someone tries turning the key in the ignition....

My clifford has an immobiliser, handy because when the alarm kicks in the clifford one imobilise's the car. Although if the battery runs out on my alarm fob, then I can't start the car. So maybe not so handy in that respect....

cliffords can disable the immobiliser using the valet code if i remember rightly, same with toads but its a bit harder with toads as it involves turning the ignition off and on a certain amount of times to correspond with your pin code

My alarm has a keypad on the windscreen so if the battery dies or you loose the remote you can disarm it with a pin no, very usefull, not that I have ever actually needed to use it, so I suppose its not so usefull :p :D

That was a bit of a pointless post really

cliffords should have a low battery warning aswel on the remotes :)
Valet mode/code should override it because its a manual override, generally the valet switch will override the remote fob, its like with blackjax, the valet will work when blackjax is activated but the remote fob wont.
im 90% sure

Nope, wherever it is it's well hidden! And just to kick you in the teeth, neither Haynes nor Fiat like to show a wiring diagram for locking. There is a sticky thread in this section with wire colours somewhere, you'll just have to make a good guess as to what to use for power though :).

passenger footwell, its up behind the dash somewhere (according to the haynes manual) but im buggered if i can find it lol
