as above post

bought myself a second hand rear axle from scrappy ( he doesnt know if it was passenger or drivers side trailing arm bushes were shot )

anyway dismantled passenger side arm ( the side i need ) and the mail bolt came out really easy ( was surprised cos o the horror stories ive heard ).

whole arm was off in 15 mins so i looked at the inner bushes and they appear fine just dont wanna waste my time striping the car down to find these ones are gone as well

so is there any easy way to tell by looking if they are fine or not?

cheers for the reply

they dont wobble and they were quite hard to tap out thats why i thought they were fine,

yeah i know u can get bush kits my intention was to buy the rear arm and get the bushes changed on the spare one so the car wasnt off the road as its needed for work by my wife.

i was given the whole axle for free from the local scrappy so cant complain that way

certainly cant, i just put the bolts back thru the bushes itself and theres next to no movement at all by hand, dont wanna try using a hammer thos.

only play at all there is is on the outside of the bushes and u can see the rubber moving slightly but assuming thats normal???

also on these ones there is no sign of grease leaking etc whereas on my car there is grease everywhere

you mean put the grease thru the hole before u slide the bolt in???

i think the ones on the car are really shot, when car is jacked up u can move the wheel about 4 inches from side to side never seen anythin like that b4 in my life kinda scary really

cheers gonna try fit it tomorro hopefully the old one will come off as easy as this one did prob not tho

cheers its got abs on the spare axle the brake pipes had just been cut will try to undo the brake unions 1st if i cant undo them will leave for a garage as i wrecked my brake pipes on my last car
