Can I remove those damn needles?

I have trauled through all the previous threads and nobody seems to be 100% sure if they can pull off the speedo/temp/fuel needles to remove green film off the dials. Can someone please clarify this? Is there a particular method that needs to be followed?

you can remove the needles, if you lever them off from each side they come out along with the long pin attached to them. it seems as if they are going to break, you have to use some force. Ive done it a few times, and you will never get them back on perfectly. Very tricky.

Cool. Mite just cut slits instead. Would be too much of a headwreck if needles were misaligned. Id be done for speeding if they wernt reading acurately
