Hi mate,

Depends what you mean by conversion? If your just trying to achieve the higher BHP that the stilo version has, then your best of sticking with a decent CUSTOM remap.

There are several differences between the stilo JTD and the Punto JTD although technically at the base of it all its the same engine. There are differences on the inlet manifold, the exhaust manifold, the turbo is different on the Stilo lump etc...

However anything is possible.

Ive not seen one, but anything is possible with enough time and money. Would need new ECU BCU, loom, Engine, Gearbox etc etc.

Although tbh they would be better off simply buying a standard Punto HGT Multijet. A remap could see 150bhp and well over 250ft-lb torque :D

FWD with all that torque will be struggling anyway. I had an Audi A4 130TDI and that would spin both wheels with just a bit too many revs. You look a right plonker when you want to nip into traffic and it just sits there smoking tyres.

Most of the remaped Punto JTD's on here will be running around 130BHP and 230ft-lb torque. Mine was 134Bhp and 240ft lb torque. Traction certainly was a problem but the main concern was the clutch. You have to treat a remaped JTD's clutch VERY carefully, as unfortunately there are not many upgraded clutched available. Was just a case of adapting your driving style really, and being more progressive with the power.

A decent set of tyres and wheels made a massive difference to mine. I only ever wheelspan in the snow after I had got used to it.

I did get used to the Audi but for a car with traction control and a forward mounted engine its was surprisingly easy to spin everything up. TCS made minimal difference.

Incidentally, maybe TCS systems generally are not too clever once both wheels are spinning they let it happen. My Punto HGT is the same.

As for the JTD clutch I wonder if the 2.4 JTD clutch would fit. My brother's 156 2.4 JTD clutch original is just starting to fail at 130K. Admittedly he has had an overbost problem for ages so he cant floor it because the engine hits overboost and power drops way down. But that mileage is good by any measure.

I am not sure if the gearbox fit in the Punto or I have to use my old gear box from punto and fit it on the block of Stilo , and I plan to use all electronics from stilo
