Just wondering if anyone can help? The two speakers in my front doors make the door rattle and vibrate if i turn any bass on and its really really annoying so was wondering if it would be possible to move the speakers somewhere else? maybe in center console or somewhere under footwells? has anyone done this?

Do what most do, get a Sub, divert all the bass to that, problem solved, and sounds 10x better. Just dont be one of those turds that drive round, windows right down, boppin your head out the window to some Dark Down Dirty Beats oggling at the chics who mutter under their breath the humble words 'What a tosser'.

How much would i pay for a sub? does it go in the boot? Dont want obnoxious bass or anything just want nice bass that doesnt make the doors rattle and vibrate! surely if the sub is in the boot the bass will be confined to that area and the sound wont be very surround?

Just line the doors with some sound deadening material. What speakers have you got in the front?

That sounds like a good idea. I bought the speakers a while back. i think they are good but cant remember what make they are. where would i get this material? would it not interfere with the door seal stuff? half of mine is torn off anyway so door leaks into side compartments. dont know how to fix it.

A Sub & amp for your needs will cost you in the region of £120-150 but they resell for a good price too if you do it right.

Yeah they are boot confined, but the sound travels well, and you dont need it to project offensive bass, just nice multi levelled bass. Thats what i'd do.

I wouldn't worry too much about the sheet of plastic in the door. That just stops the possibility of water coming in to the car. Water could still get down the side of the window and in to the door area itself.

Oh and I found that it's actually the plastic sheeting vibrating when I first thought my speakers vibrating. So I took it all off and sound deadend the doors. You want to deaden the outside skin of the car (behind the speaker) and also around the speaker where it fixs to the inside sheet of metal. It makes a world of difference. The other thing I did was use 'gaffer' tape to line the whole the speaker sits in as I had a bit of vibration between the speaker and its mount that this solved.

Lastly. Get a sub, amp and a good headunit (you may have a decent headunit I'm just generalising :) ) and cut out all the really low frequencies to your front speakers. The bravo is a great car for a sub as its a hatchback so the sub has no trouble getting the sound in to the main of the car unlike a saloon might do.

Good luck

Oh and I forgot to mention I took off the plastic seal on my car ages ago as have some other owners and I know at least Tom and I have never had an issue with water getting in to the car :)

Sound deaden the doors, it makes a HELL of a difference.

I'm running 6.5" midbass with no bass cutoff with no rattles from the doors.

That crappy sheet of white plastic went in the bin about 2 months after I bought the car :)

Cheers lads thanks for info. Lidl are selling those foam camping mats for €8 each and they are lined with some silver waterproof **** too so ill buy a few of them and cut them up for sound dampening in doors. cheers for help. PS headunit good its the new pioneer that lets me control ipod without actually using ipod controls, its great
