I was given a pack of 6 carling black label cans by my neighbor because she's a non drinker.
The dates out as of the 28th March 2005... is it ok to drink it or are there any possible risks... The last thing i need right now is a night bent over the Bog, spewing up old beer :yuck:

If it has a date it can go off. That said, canned goods of any kind usually have long expiry dates, which have a good error tolerance, so you should be very safe.

Whilst alcahol doesn't go off in certain situations, the packaging affects this. Corked wine doesn't go off as such, because the cork allow the wine to breath, but only if the bottle is kept flat so that the wine is in contact with the cork rather than air either side of the cork. Canned beer may be prone to problems due to the air contained within the can, but also due to the aluminium in the can.

Thanx Corey, I have opened a can and it smells fine , a little more throthy than usual but i think on your advice i'll go for it..

Pot noodle and beer for me tonight then...hmmm maybe some tangy cheese doritos too

ive had beer thats been a year out of date, i was only only 13 and thought it all tasted like crap, how wrong was i

i dont think it go off as in grow mould on it or anything, but you will get a fuller taste

im off to go a search places unknown in the garage fridge, might find a can of wrexham in there - oh i hope so :D
