Hi guys,

A while ago, I think one of the Greek guys posted about his Stilo and the work he'd had done to it but for the life of me, I can't find it now

In it, he mentioned about having fitted GTA injectors, MAF and ECU fitted and I'm trying to see what else he did and maybe get in touch with him. Jim, can you fix it for me to find the thread? :D

On the note of mods, what do people think about the idea of fitting the injectors, ECU, TB and the MAF from a GTA? What are the issues that you'd come across doing it? Can you just fit them? Can you use the existing ECU with a remap?

Whatcha reckon? (y)

Check the posts of Abarth driver..:p

Cheers Phil (y)

It's weird though... I can remember his name now you've mentioned it but can I find him in the members list or any posts from him? Nooooopppppeee!

How weird...

..

Just noticed his name is stilo driver in another thread greg try that one.he uses the name abarth driver on the other site..

I think I remember this myself. Didnt he have huge Range Rover Sport brakes and Momo alloys with red spokes or something? Have no idea where abouts I saw it though.

That's the one! I'd forgotten about the RR Sport brakes :D He describes what engine mods he did and from memory I swear he fitted:

GTA Injectors
GTA TB 89mm
GTA MAF
GTA ECU
C&M CAM 260deg

The question is, how much of an arse would it be to fit the GTA parts and what would you need to do? Do you need the GTA ECU? IF so, what would you need to do to get it to work with the rest of the car? Would you have body computer issues? I'm just wondering if this would be the best way for the 2.4 owners to get better performance without huge expense...

Probably easier to get a standalone ECU with GTA software leaded. I think that would be about £800 all in. I know a guy who has done the course and eager to perfect the art of ECU if you want me to point you in the right direction. Im sure at this stage in his career he will want to be doing as much as possible so making money will be on the bottom of his priorities.

Can you try and keep your findings publically here as i am very intrigued, you never know i might do it at the same time. Many heads make like work and all (y)

I have to say Greggers i had stepped away from the Stilo section but you are helping to keep my hopes and dreams alive so i will be spending more time here. :worship:

I dont know what you would gain from running a GTA ECU because its probably not much different from a hardware point of view to that fitted to the 2.4 Stilo.

If you did the other mods and could find someone who knew the motronic inside out and could program the ECU to work with the MAF etc you would be on your way.

How you would even begin to get an ECU from a GTA to integrate into the CAN network of the stilo is an even bigger task I would have thought. Unless by some strange fluke it use the same CAN identification and addressing system as the Stilo.

Dan

EDIT: Im bored a f**k at the moment, and now my car is working again need to fiddle with it. Lets get some ideas together and see where we can take this?

Well, I like the idea of just changing the injectors, TB and MAF+housing (with a bigger BMC CDA) and running the standard ECU with a remap, that would be brilliant not to mention reasonably cheap and easy. I've contacted AutoLusso about the cost of second hand parts so I'll let you what I hear. (y)

I wonder if Stilodriver can help us out with any of this? I emailed him a while back but never heard anything from him :(

I found it!!! He's called Stiloabarthdriver on "the other forum" :D

Here's the list of the work he's done... in his own words...

I make firts the exhaust from the engine to the end begining from 70mm to 63,5mm to the edning .
second biger throtle body from 62,5mm to 89mm from new V8 Maseraty 4,2 lit.
third BMC cda 180=d and 260mm high and inlet d=90mm
fourh ijectors and MAF from Alfa Romeo GTA
fifth Colombo & Mariani stage II fast road 260 degres
sixth ECU remap programing 37% more fuel and avans with the limit 7600 rpm.
seventh oil cooler from Alfa Romeo GTA 147 with pipes from Fiat coupe 20vt

r halding i have put antirol kit from H&R for GTA 26mm
KW Variant I
Q2 diferencial from Alfa Romeo
and for breaks i have extrem solusion Movit disk 343mm X 30mm with bell and four pistons calimpers from the Land Rover supercharge 400+hoursepower painted in Ferrari color. and rear 305mm X28mm disk from GTA front and 4 pistons calibers from GTA also

Standalone ECU is the way forward in life you have far more control and scope for improvment as far as im aware. The price is dropping like a led weight as they get more and more popular outside of the track.
I think Cobra do a good one
