Hi guys the inside of my tyres always wear out but the wear rate is getting silly now a new pair of of uniroyal rainsports 3 fitted in july have worn out again ive had the car wheel aligned etc one garage who did the old fashion alighment test said wheels are aligned and another did adjustment

will the camber bolts you can get for the stilo fit my car so I can at least adjust some of the negative camber out if so 10 or 12mm bolt??

Some negative camber is expected. But it should't do anything to the tires.
I suspect you have to much toe-in.
Start searching for something that is out of wack.
Get the car to an alignment specialist that has the necessary laser equipment.
Did you lower the car?
Are the top mounts old and cracked?

aurick86 thanks for the reply the car has been on 4 wheel laser alignment which resulted in the wheels been aligned according to spec think it was +0.7 ive had the car done once a year but still have this problem .
I'm thinking if I put the bolts in £17 I may be able to save the front tyres from been replaced again

It's cheap enough it's worth a try, but if those do not solve the problem it will also cost you a pair of tires. :)
That is why i am trying to see more possible faults.
Any play in steering/suspension components?

Side note: if you suspect any amount of bend in the rear control arm or beam what ever it's called you cannot be 100% on any alignment.
Even if the rear bushings get a bit bent out of shape.
I still say it's an alignment issue i.e to mush toe-in.

My car used to eat tires like that, on the inside; since then i've replaced the top mounts, the lower ball joints, and front control arm bushings, and had an alignment (two actually, as after the first time they did it, the steering wheel was at 45 degrees  )

I have a tail of woe for you regarding wheel alinement. In January 2015 I took my bravo to Reasearch garage - a top main fiat dealer in Nuneaton to have my bravo wheel alinement checked as I felt the car was pulling to the left slightly. It wasn't pulling much but I was just being fussy. It was a decision I later regretted. The garage adjusted it and said it was out slightly and I left very happy. After about two or three months I noticed that the outside edge of the tyres were wearing. I figured it was just the car getting through a set of tyres like they do so I stumped up for a new set of tyres and had the very good rears put on the front. About two months after that I noticed it was happening again and alarm bells came on so I took it to my local independent garage for a 4 wheel alinement check and to my horror found that the wheels were a staggering 17mm's out! To put that into context a pot hole usually puts wheels out by about 1.5mm's so the main dealer had screwed up and somehow over adjusted it. It totally blown any faith I had with main dealers not to mention £300 on new tyres and alinement checks. So if you can get a second opinion then it's well worth doing as your first garage may not have done it correctly.

It's certainly true that tyres shouldn't wear out as quickly as yours. Since having mine done correctly I haven't had any unormal wear so if it's not alinement then you should start looking somewhere eles like tyre pressures, broken springs (a common issue on today's cars) or a broken suspension top bearing. If you do get it sorted let us know as it would be interesting to find out :)

Hi
I also have/has this inner tire were, my steering wheel was not strait. Did wheel alignments 3 times the guys that did ikt said it was correct alind but in motorway speed the steering wheel was to the left. So i started changing parts it ended with a complete new suspension both front and back but no difference. Then I looked at the inner tie rod and found that the thred was not there any more its rusted away making the locking nut impossible to move even with heat. I changed both inner and outer tie rod on both sides and went to wheel alignment again and now its steering wheel i perfekt. I dont know yet if this will stop the inner tyre were but im hopping it will. Its could be worth checking out because the steering rods is easy to change and does not cost a fortune.

surly if the inner tie rods were bent it would toe out the tracking not make any difference with the camber

How many miles have you done in that time? Rainsport 3s are very soft, I've known sets to be done in 7.5k miles; especially with spirited driving.

matt don't know where you get there soft as my rears have done nearly 20000miles and still no where bear the limit markers

its just the fronts I have problems with tyre pressures are 38 instead of 36 to reduce the inside wear but I still have too much so I just need the bolt size to get the camber bolts fitted

I have NEVER had tracking done properly except at STS Type Pros who have the level of equipment required. If you used Kwikfit in my experience you may as well not have bothered (for example) Camber has vastly less effect on tyre wear than tracking and the solution is usully new suspension parts.

Top strut bearings will affect camber as well but causes are normally much more substantial. Get the tracking done right and I suspect the problems will disappear.

I have tried all the other major tyre supplies and some independents and repeat the only place to get the job done right has been STS who have cured tyre wear on all my vehicles 3 of which were suffering from the same problem and varied levels of pulling as well. I do not understand why they can do what the others universally cannot.

well went and brought the camber bolts and the spirit level to adjust ..bolts wont fecking fit ...the fiat stilo 1.9 diesil has the same suspension struts same codes and the bolts are different rrrrr

That is to expected, there is little weight on the rear of the car. The rears should have been moved forward when you replaced the front set in any case - best tyres should always be on the rear.

If you doubt that they wear quickly, have a google.

I had this issue with the camber bolt and found that they have universally listed the wrong size on most Fiats. Come down from M12 to M10 and they will at least fit. I have wear on thenoutside edge of the rear tyres but as these went to 62K before I changed them I am not worrying.

Hey guys, my Bravo Sport Tjet 150HP came originally with Bridgestone Potenza and replaced the four tyres with Maxxis, They were really good actually and 3 years later I had to replace the front right tyre with a new Maxxis one but that tyre after a year or so was worn out from the inside and it just broke. I went to the shop and they told me the bushings on the front wishbones need to be replaced as well as the right front wheel bearing. Here in Mexico is extremely expensive to buy a spare part directly from the dealer, the are charging me 250 pounds for the wheel bearing and 380 for the complete wishbone as they said it doesn't come in parts and have to be replaced entirely. I looked on the internet and saw that there are bushings for the wishbone but I'm not sure if it is replaceable on the Tjet or the dealer might be right this time and it needs to be replaced entirely?

Apart from this, does anyone of you have the measurements of the front wheel bearing? I found some bearings that cost me around 20 pounds instead of the 250 pounds the dealer is trying to steal from me.

Any help on this would be much appreaciated!
