Is it hard to change the cambelt yourself on a 1.6 bravo?

Not a constructive reply lol.....

You may need locking tools to lock the top cams, unless you used the good old fansioned way of marking them, you would need to line up the bottom pulley's timing mark and then mark the top two pulleys so that you get the timing right when refitting the new belt....

I have never challenge such a job but would of done had i still had my 1.8 but now i have the HGT, off to the mech's it goes from now on....

as people have said you need the locking tools for the 1.6 i had mine done without them and then found that the inlet was out as when its tensioned the cams move freely not like the bottom end i had mine redone with locking tools and luckily there was no damage for the timing being out you could bend valves if its not right

the locking tools for the 1.6 lock the cams from the gearbox end of the engine and also the flywheel is locked also

cheers
