Cam belt change! "When" ?

I have owned my 1999 Bravo HGT 155 from new and it has now done 45K miles. Can any one tell me when I should think about changing the Cam Belt ? And is there any history of HGT belts letting loose ? Thanx...............

How soon can you get to the garage?

Most places recommend a 48K change now as there are so many horror stories about the tensioners letting go.

If you are in the Essex area give PowerFiat.co.uk a bell as they do the 155 cambelt, tensioner and water pump for £395 all in and are highly recommended.

Hi Rog

I've got a Bravo HGT, I've had it since 35,000 miles and it went in for it's 72,000 mile service yesterday (thursday) and had the cam belt changed.

I went to Power Fiat, it was miles out of my way, but recommended by a few people on here and (so far) it seems to be money well spent, he's a top bloke.
