Going to test run an 05 ( 90k) multipla elegance, its for my wife who is a child care assistant so loads of kiddie transporting and low mile stop start journeys. DPF is likely to be an issue and ive read how to remove that,
i have the welding skills and tools to do it.
Can the DPF be recoded at home, or dealer only ( i can do the physical removal and reweld)

Also pointers on what to look out for please.

The ECU will need to be decoded, unlikely you will have the software to do this at home. Are you sure yours has a DPF, being an 05 plate ?? Is yours a JTD or a Multijet ? Boot script or engine cover are easy clues or look underneath. The DPF has a heater sensor connected to it. The front pipe inlet to the DPF is a 3 hole triangle flange. If you have a 2 hole eliptical flange its not a DPF, but a mid silencer. DPF Multipla's also have a mid silencer after the DPF.

Also ensure at 90k on another subject that the cam belt / tensioners / water pump/ aux belt have been changed at 5 years old ( In 2010 for this Multipla ) or 72,000 miles, which ever comes first.

hes looking £2000 is that a decent price or way off?

On boot says JTD and not Multijet, so maybe no DPF. Check exhaust system as I have described underneath. Values below, based on 92k, Values of Multipla's have gone up recently, maybe the trader not noticed this yet :
