Hi everyone,
I'm french and about to buy this car :

Bravo JTD 105,
30000 km
From Year 2000
All options

I can buy one at 10000 €.
Tell me if this is a good car and what kind of problems I may have (my Golf 3 is just dead, breaking its engine)

THX in advance and have a nice day,
Jacky

I've just had my 72,000 mile service done. No problems since I had the car. :)

A tuning box and air filter will add another 25-30bhp and won't affect MPG unless you thrash it.

Tuning Box

A tuning box is a small box of electronics (about the same size as a cigarette packet) that is plugged into the ECU. It basically increase power and torque by bypassing the engines programme set by the manufacturer. Although there is an increase (25%+) it stills falls within the tollerences of the engine itself, i.e. - you are not straining the engine by using it.

I had one fitted earlier this year and have seen a good increase mid-range. MPG is about the same, even though the manufacturer claims I may even increase it over time. This is unlikely as you tend to use the extra power.

The main difference between a 'box and a superchip is that a 'box can be unplugged. A superchip is soldered onto the ECU making the reversal process that much more difficult.

Once I sell my car I can remove it if it's not wanted, and sell it on. :)
