Hi Guys
I have a 2007 fiat ducato 30 MWB 100 and the rear bump stop/spring assisters are knackered!
Does anyone know the correct bump stops for this model as there are so many listed across eBay and the like, just want to make sure I get the right ones.
Thank you

Original birth part should be 51028 height 134mm the old one is only a fe mm less 125/130mm so if the thread is the same probably fine.

Hi,
Is the bumpstop touching the axle? as it will just mush up again even if you fit a new one.

Simon

Its a spring assister not a bump stop, its only a bump stop when fully compressed. I would have thought a fella selling spring assisters would know that

If you google the-knowledge-spring-assisters-and-bump-stops you'll see vosas clarification on this.

They will tough the axle from a few hundred kilos up in the single spring van in a motorhome they will touch all the time.

Hi,
I was only asking because Ive got about 20 good secondhand ones you could of had for free as I will be chucking them in the bin. Which were removed from the same vehicle when we fit spring assisters.

Will check if their touching after I empty van out. It's loaded up with tools and rubbish at the mo. Will post up some photos.

So here are the photos on the spring assisters with a partially loaded van. Notice they are not complete as in there are only three rings when they should be four.

Would these fit a ducato 2004? I think mine are well past their best.

Let me rephrase the question as I'm fully aware of the issues ....what type of spring assisters are you fitting
As I'm toying with fitting an air suspension kit

For the air suspension kit, just search ebay for Ducato air spring. For the coil spring assisters, search ebay for Ducato assisters. Both have advantages. The coil spring ones need no air compressor or pipes, but aren't adjustable. The air suspension needs all the pipes and adjustment valve plumbing in, but of course are adjustable. Both are about the same price, so take your choice. I'm sure Custom Campers, who posted here earlier can give you a lot more info and fit them for you too.

try marcle leisure (think thats how u spell it) they do kits at a good price.

bern.

I found these "spring assisters" to be way too hard. I could drive over a tanner and tell whether it was heads or tails! I've just installed the air suspension from Marcle, made by Dunlop. So far I'm very pleased. Rear of camper height is adjustable, and the ride is much smoother.

VOSA issued a directive to MOT testers who were failing vans and motor homes because the bump stops were touching the spring. It was explained to them that the suspension is designed that way and that the bump stops were not bump stops but part of suspension.
One guy I know was told by a franchised service department that his brand new Transit base motorhome would fail an MOT if it was subjected to it.
