Can anyone do me a big favour and check their handbook and let me know what size/type of bulb is in the dipped beam lights? I assume that the side lights are 501's as all cars seem to have?

I am away from home again with work so can't check my handbook myself and plan to replace the standard bulbs with some better quality bulbs whilst i am away to give me something to do in the evening instead of staring at the walls of my hotel :bang:.

I've noticed that the bulbs in the Bravo aren't as clear or bright for country lane night time driving as the Philips Vision Plus bulbs that I have used in my previous cars.

pretty sure they are H1's - look at the autoexpress website for reviews of bulbs: Accessory of the year = Philips X-treme Power.

I may take a look. I've always upgraded to Philips bulbs in all my cars and now it's time to do so again. I'll check out the X-treme's

just checked the handbook; page 169 - main and dipped are both H1 bulbs

They look good - how easy are they to fit though (in a Bravo)? I had to take my previous car (Stilo) to the dealer to get the bulb changed.

In mine 1.4 T-Jet it's a peace of cake. The back of the light units are easily accessible. Just simply remove the cover to each bulb and pop it out. |reverse of that to replace with the new bulb. It's a 2 min job.

I don't think Philips make an H1 extreme power bulb. I've gone for Osram Night breakers in my Bravo and am very happy with them (plus they claim an even higher output than the philips bulbs)
